I built this game with a simple goal: to bring back the feeling of classic arcade shooters. There are no complex storylines or hour-long

here—just you, a rocket, and an endless field of space rocks. Whether you are playing on your phone while waiting for the bus or taking a quick break at your desktop, the goal is simple: Don’t crash.

The Mission: 5 Levels of Chaos

Unlike many infinite runners that just loop forever, Meteor Dodge has a clear mission structure. Can you make it all the way to the edge of the universe?

  1. Asteroid Belt (Easy): This is your warm-up. Get comfortable with the controls.
  2. Meteor Storm: The pace picks up. You’ll need to start predicting where the rocks will fall.
  3. Comet Field: Things get fast. Blink and you might miss a gap.
  4. Supernova Zone: High risk, high reward.
  5. Black Hole Edge (Extreme): The ultimate test. Only the best pilots make it here.

How to Control Your Ship

You don’t need a gaming controller to play. We optimized this for every device:

  • On Desktop: Use your Arrow Keys. Left and Right to steer, Up and Down to navigate through tight spots.
  • On Mobile: It’s fully touch-responsive. Tap the Left side of the screen to go left, and the Right side to go right.

Pilot’s Guide: Power-Ups & Strategy

Surviving isn’t just about dodging; it’s about using your tools. Keep an eye out for floating icons—they can save your run.

  • The Shield: This gives you 5 seconds of invincibility. If you are trapped in a corner, grab this and ram through the meteors to clear a path.
  • Slow Motion: The matrix effect. This slows down time for 4 seconds, letting you weave through impossible gaps.
  • Score Multiplier: Feeling confident? Grab this to double your points for 6 seconds. It’s the best way to hit the target score quickly to unlock the next level.

Behind the Code

For the tech-savvy visitors: Meteor Dodge is built entirely in Vanilla JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. There are no heavy game engines or external libraries slowing it down.

  • File Size: The whole game is under 150KB (that’s lighter than most images on the web!).
  • Performance: It runs at a smooth 60 FPS on almost any modern browser.
  • Privacy: No installation required. We use your browser’s local storage to save your high score, so you don’t need to create an account to track your progress.
